Changes In Europe For Online Businesses

10 years ago written by

In an effort to strengthen the internal B2C market, the EU is implementing new regulations on distance selling. The website, mondaysunday, has highlighted some of the main issues as seen below that was implemented on 13 June 2014.

1) The proposal will eliminate hidden charges and costs on the Internet

Consumers will be protected against “cost traps” on the Internet.

2) Increased price transparency

Traders have to disclose the total cost of the product or service, as well as any extra fees.

For bigger retailers these adjustment will not be difficult to enforce, but for in Europe, that sell products internationally will have a harder time implementing these changes.
