The 16th Annual food for Thought Festival was on Saturday, September 20, 2014. food for Thought is a celebration of healthful, just, and sustainable local food across Southern Wisconsin. Free, open to the public, and adjacent to the Dane County farmers Market, the festival gathers businesses, organizations, and important leaders to talk about where our food comes from and the choices we can make to improve our community through what we eat.

This year's event featured a Chef Showdown – Harvest Madness!, where three chefs choose their fresh veggie ingredients and competed to win the best veggie-centric dish! Along with the Chef Showdown, this year's Thought Tent included presentations on healthy, cost-friendly smoothie making from Willy Street Co-op, healthy soils from Purple Cow Organics, local food preservation from The Creative Vegetable Gardener and FermUp.com
