A Community Farm

Burgess Farm is a 200-year-old community-based farm, located in Rhode Island that focus on working towards accessibility and creating welcoming experiences in agriculture for less-represented people in agriculture. The farm created a project, called the Trans-FARM-ative Community Garden Project, which aims to expand food security, agricultural sustainability and LGBTQ+ community support in Rhode Island. Farmer and co-owner Page Whooler originally a California native, moved to Rhode Island with the goal of helping others through farming. Mr Whooler plan is to provide fresh produce for low-to-no-income people in the LGBTQ+, BIPOC, veterans and disabled communities.
