Darell Hammond, co-founder and CEO of KaBOOM! a national nonprofit organization dedicated to saving play for America’s children by building play spaces in neighborhoods that most need them.  Access to a playground provides a chance to be a kid and an answer to many of the plagues on today’s inactive youth, like obesity and behavioral problems.

As part of their Hurricane Sandy Relief initiative, JetBlue celebrated its 20th playground build in partnership with KaBoom! and American Express, on August 1 in Island Park, Long Island. More than 200 volunteers came out bright and early to give back to the community check out how they were able rebuild a sense of community.
